Progress in safety equipment

The world of functional safety clothing has evolved over the last few years as safety has become more prominent in everyone’s mind. With some type of safety equipment required for every type of work-based task, manufacturers have realised that safety supplies are in a market which will be expanding for the foreseeable future.
You will note that new safety equipment is designed to appeal to the wearer, rather than just been plain and functional. Safety glasses are constructed with the same design and flair as sunglasses, safety helmets come with zany designs instead of plain colors.
This trend has started with the more commonly-used items but is also spreading to the specialized areas such as fire resistant clothing. This type of equipment traditionally has had a few items on offer which had to cope with all tasks. Now you can even get fire-retardant fleece-jackets and sweat-shirts, along with several designs of fire-retardant cotton or ‘Nomex’ shirts to wear under your fleece. The offerings to this market have increased with demand and competition.
