A new month, a new theme...

Apologies for being a bit slow out of the blocks with this month's theme. I had pursuit of maximum earnings in May 2007, raising blog 'popularity' in June 2007, and for July...I am going to be helpful..!
I am reminded that I set up this blog to investigate paid to blog schemes, so my target 'audience' are those who are interested in blogging and specifically paid to blog. By happy accident I may get other visitors as part of the viral tagging and icon schemes, but I am primarily geared towards providing information for paid to post bloggers.
So I will be researching stuff that I think will be helpful and posting my findings. As I am committed to being helpful, feel free to ask questions and I will be obliged to try and help you out...!

I have just had news that a relation has found out that their baby needs treatment for a large birthmark on his face. The parents have just been told that their local Healthcare Trust won't fund laser treatment of the birthmark because they consider it to be cosmetic, not withstanding the fact that nearly every other PCT in the country will treat birthmarks and it is a well established fact that facial disfigurement can have a serious psychological impact.

They've investigated private treatment and not only will it cost tens of thousands of pounds (at least 6 treatments under general anaesthetic) but none of them will treat him till he's 14 years old and for optimal effectiveness it needs doing as soon as possible.

His parents set up a petition on the 10 Downing St site and can be found by clicking here. Would you do me a real favour and put your names to it and pass it on to other folks who may be like-minded?

Madeleine McCann abducted in Portugal

I don't know what else there is that can be done to publicise the disappearence of Maddy McCann, but I think the blogging community may be able to do a small amount to help get Maddy's picture around the globe. If you don't know the story, this little girl (4 years old) was abducted whilst on Holiday in Portugal, click on the picture to visit the official site for the full story. Maddy has a distinctive pupil in her right eye that will help to distinguish her even if she has her hair altered... I would be grateful if other bloggers could take up this story and put a picture of Maddy on their website. I am not personally connected to this story in any way, but have been touched by the plight of Maddy's parents (having a similar aged child myself).

I would be delighted to see other bloggers all over the world helping to publicise this story as Maddy could be anywhere in the world right now and having her picture in the public domain may just help someone to identify her.
