Competiton for $1...!!

I know it sounds crazy, but I had to have a go at this one. It's more a commenting competition than a blogging competition, in fact I'm not required to post about it to enter. Entry is far simpler than that...
One Dollar Jackpot give a way a dollar every day, here's what they say:
OneDollarJackpot.com is an online competition that's open to anyone with an email address.

A simple competition, all you need is a brain, some creativity and 25 words to win it with.

Each day the winner is drawn and written about on the blog. A tip for the daily competition is also given along with the greatest help - how many people entered yesterday.
You can see the winners and some of the entries by visiting the blog, and if you're wondering what you can do with your dollar, the site helpfully points you in the direction of 'Dollar Hot Dogs', a site offering to cook you a hot dog and mail it to you for a dollar paid via paypal...!!
This site carries a warning that actually eating the Hot Dog once it has been mailed to you may actually cause sickness or death so you mustn't actually eat it...

All that remains is to say thanks guys for helping to make the internet a funnier place... and if I get a dollar, I'm gonna keep it!

EzMoneyOn.NET offers a $100 prize..

It's about time we featured another blog contest here, and this one comes courtesy of the ContestBlogger who continues to provide an excellent supply of information regarding internet contests and competitions.

First prize: $100 cash (via PayPal or MoneyBookers)
Second prize: 1000 Entrecard credits

The contest will be ending on March 11th and the winner will be chosen using random.org, and announced on 12th March. To ratify your entry, please leave a comment against the original contest post.

$50 blog contest

Super-duper, easy peasy blog contests with plenty of cash on offer - what more could you want...?
Melbel has started a great new blogging contest for a $50 payout - the means of entry is simple, my choices will be to post an entry in a forum, leave a comment against the original post
See the original post here..
and post about it in at least one blog - so that's at least three entries for just 5 minutes typing...
For those that have not visited Mel's blog can I suggest that you take a trip over there to check out her new layout. It's a very cool template, nice and airy and quite different to the intense colours that used to be on her blog when I first visited.
Mel is recently married and has some bills to pay, her blog contains a mixture of personal posts on varying topics and some reporting of the ways she has been making money on the internet. Mel is a fan of sushi and is aiming to be an ebay powerseller. If you want to know any more, get over there and take a look yourself....

So that’s full marks for simplicity and big bucks! Get your skates on though!!!

$25 Blog contest

Another easy contest as reported on the new ContestBlogger forum:

All you have to do is tell your readers about the contest, link to the original contest post and link to the IBDinsurance.com homepage with a relevant anchor. In truth, I think the contest devisers have been quite cute because this seems like a cheaper way to get links than using a paid to blog service, but the chance to win $25 can’t be ignored….so I’m in!

And....if you happen to be looking for Health Insurance in North Carolina, then pay the site a visit.

Random draw to be made on 1st Jan, payment via paypal or money order.

Good start to December

My first earnings for December have arrived in the form of a $5 prize (less the usual paypal fee) from a competition post completed in October (waterproof memo boards). I really hope some of the November contests are just as successful!!
Technically, you could argue that contests were a way of getting paid links, so perhaps I should keep quiet about winning anything in case Google turns up again to slap me... However seeing as I have no PR, I guess I can do whatever I want.
Of course, ironically Google own my blogging platform so I guess if they wanted to, they could pull the plug on me by kicking me off Blogger.... Ah well, I will continue to do contests in case that's the only way to raise cash via a blog in the future....

Pinoy contest for $25

Well, we are back on the contest track! Thanks to 'Millette05' at mmmtalk forum for this one...
This one is a 'must do' you can win $25 just for leaving a comment against the original contest thread here.
It is a Christmas theme too, just to get you in the mood for the festivities - all you have to do is complete the sentence:
If I had an extra P1,000 ($25) this Christmas, I would…
In order to be in with the chance of winning an extra $12, all you need to do is post about the contest and link back to it, leaving a comment with the URL against the original post. The contest is on the Pinoy Money Talk website which has lots of good advice not only for Pinoy bloggers and webmasters, but for everyone.
This contest is so easy, you have to ask: why wouldn't you????

Cash Contest $100!

Contest blogger has flagged this one up (check out the new format and get involved in the online contests and sweepstakes)
$100 up for grabs for a blog entry/RSS subscription entry by 3rd December.
1. Link back to the Making Sales Making Money homepage using the anchor text home based business opportunities.
2. Link back to the Contest Blogger homepage using the anchor text sweepstakes.
Well for $100, it's worth a look at the blog putting up the cash, so I popped over to have a look at the home based business opportunities that might be on offer... There are stacks of good ideas, I started off by taking a gamble on the 'top-spots' widget - if it pays off, I'll write a post about it - plenty of other good ideas on the Making Sales Making Money site - recommended reading...

$50 Blog contest

Thanks to ThePrizeBlog for todays contest. It's my favourite type of contest... easy to enter blog post with a cash prize - random winner, so as long as you stick to the rules you have as much chance as anyone of getting your hands on a $50 paypal prize...
There is a second contest for a sidebar text-link (12 months) for subscribing to RSS feed for the same site.

For the blog post simply write a 100 word minimum post with anchor text 'egg donation' linked to the blog home page (http://egg-donation-directory.blogspot.com/) and leave a comment against the original contest post include email address and post URL in the comment Deadline Nov 25th, winners announced on Nov 27th, here is my entry...

Now here's a blog the like of which I have not seen before, and it's all about egg donation, both from the point of view of the donor and the recipient. There are posts covering the procedure involved in egg donation and the potential monetary rewards. There are posts about fertility drugs and links to clinics in all 52 US states.
Equally, there are posts dedicated to egg donation in other parts of the world, including such diverse regions as the Czech Repulic and Asia....
Personally I was quite surprised to learn that more than $100 can be earned for egg donation, as I'm pretty sure that cash rewards for egg donation are not available in the UK. That said, it seems that the process of egg harvesting can be uncomfortable and quite inconvenient, so that's something else I have learned...
This website then, will no doubt prove a source of valuable information for those considering egg donation either as donor or recipient.

Cash Contest at Romance Tracker

Well Phil Van Treuren has been showing his feminine side at Romance Tracker, and as you would expect from the contest blogger supremo., he has an awesome $100 hard cash prize contest running... True to requirements for the best contests, it offers hard cash and is easy to enter:

There are two different ways to get your name in the hat to win 100 bucks from Romance Tracker:
  1. If you have a blog, link back to the Romance Tracker homepage using the anchor text "love“. It can be a mention in a post, a link in your sidebar, or whatever!
  2. Subscribe to the Romance Tracker RSS Feed

If you do just one of the things above, you’ll get one entry in the 100 buck contest. If you do both of the things above, you’ll get two entries in the 100 buck contest. Easy, huh?

Funny thing was, the word 'dude' didn't appear once in any of the posts over at romance tracker - maybe it's a different Phil Van Treuren altogether.... you gotta love his style...

September 2007

The first prize ($25) and the second prize ($10) in the Livewyre.NET competition have been paid out (winners to be announced tomorrow). Thanks to everyone who took part, this has been a learning experience for me... in all I benefited from enough links to justify the prize, and I think I made enough during the month to cover the prize anyway, especially since winning a cash prize of $10 myself...
Once again, I have not done a lot of paid posts this month, as my focus has been mainly on promotion of my website 'portfolio'. I have included my cash prize (less paypal fees) into my earnings, but the prize will be taken from my 'livewyre' budget rather than my 'munny4hunny' budget as the intention was to promote Livewyre not Munny4Hunny.

Contest update

I've been away for a few days and now have to sit down and work out who are the winners in my blog contest.
I could not mention my specific criteria for choosing the main prize winner as it was dependent on DIGG's received on the pages that got links from blog entries. If I had come out and said that from the start, it would have been against DIGG terms or service, and could have been 'gamed'.
I am happy to say that I have identified the winning post, I have sent them an email, and will reveal all shortly. It remains for the 'random' prize to be awarded, and I will merely add all the back-links connected to the contest onto a list and randomly pick one.
Watch this space....

$50 contest for creative bloggers....

Cash contest again today over at Blogging with cents (thanks to browsing through Mr Prizes recently added contests). This contest however, is a contest with a difference. The prize will be awarded to those that have obtained entry to the contest by filling in the blanks in a short story. Cleverly, the story contains two links, and you must post the completed story on your own blog (including links). the prize will be awarded randomly, but you can earn extra entries by completing the story cleverly or wittily. I really like this idea for a contest and will endeavour to have a go myself...

Here are the rules in brief:

You can use 1 word or a phrase to fill in the blank. You can be as creative as you want, you decide what is said and how the story ends! If the story doesn’t make sense, that’s OK too;)

If your story makes the author of the blog laugh or impresses her sufficiently, then you will earn extra bonus entries

You have until 12:00am cst, September 30 to get your entries in. On October 1st, a winner will be drawn at random. The winner will have 1 week to get in touch to claim his/her winnings.

What you win: One random winner will win $50 via Paypal and, of course, some linky love on my big fat PR O of a blog:)

NOW FOR THE STORY—-

_______ about a month ago in _______. I was ______ when I realized my ______ could be seen. You have probably had that experience before. I felt ______ , and I knew that soon I would have to ______ . I was a little worried about ______. But then, all of the sudden, I saw ______ coming right towards me!! I remembered what a cowboy’s wife had told me. It was very important to _____ and ______. Before I knew it, I was given the tools and tips to ______. So you see, I really was ______ , and I decided I just had to _______.

The End.

Leave the url to your entry in the comments section on the original competition post.

$100 contest at World of Angel

Cash on an impressive scale ($100), and a real easy contest to enter, what more could you want?

Here's what the author of WorldOfAngel has to say about it:

"The rules for this contest are simple. All you have to do is write a short paragraph (minimum 50 words) in one of your blog posts telling people about this competition and that they can win $100. Link to this post with an anchor text of your choosing. Then, Stumble http://worldofangel.com/ and subscribe to my RSS feed. That’s it. There’s no real legwork involved and you could do the whole thing in about five minutes."

Your pingback will be your entry ticket for this contest. This one is open until the 30th of September, so get your skates on to get an entry into this contest. Here's an idea if you win the $100, why not run a contest for $50 and spread a little of the cash around the rest of the blogosphere. As they say, what goes around, comes around....

Mr Prizes - contests website

MrPrizes.com - Your online guide through a fun and easy to use resource to win cash and prizes.
I got a comment from Mr Prizes to say that he'd featured my contest, so naturally I went over to have a look... This is a great website with stacks and stacks of competitions and good links. I haven't had time yet to really explore everything on the site, but rest-assured I'll be going back to see what is on offer. Other sites featuring blogging competitions tend to be in a blog-style, but this one is a more conventional website. He has a cool widget which you can place on your site or blog that will keep your readers up to date with the latest competitions.

(I was even able to customise the widget to fit in with my new red theme) All-in-all this looks to me like it will be a very successful site, and one which I for one will find very useful.

Romantic contest for $100

The Power of AttractionMay Leng of the 'Just Me' blog wants to give away $100 via Paypal for your romantic story, that's it, no links, no signing up to RSS feeds, DIGGing posts or any of the jumping through hoops that usually accompanies a contest on a blog.
Here's what she says about the contest:

"I'm giving away my USD100 via paypal if you have a paypal ID, alternatively I'm happy to transfer the money to fellow Malaysians thru Maybank2u . Hang on, there's a catch.

Keeping the spark in a relationship is hard work, everyone knows that. There are plenty of ways to keep the fire, the burning passion between two person. Romantic ideas to show your appreciation and adoration to your loved one. I have plenty of ways to romance my companion. Sadly not many are appreciative. Anyhow, I feel stupid, silly and stumped thinking back of all the silly things I've done to impress a guy. I'm sure the Power of Attraction strikes a deal with everyone. So, I like to hear your sweet, silly, funny story of what you did to impress, court the opposite gender. The story does not need to have a happy ending. Heck, most of the stupid stuff I did, the guy don't even know about it and the admiration just went into dormant mode. Just send me the gest of your courting action. No perfect English is required. I will rewrite the story for you (names will not be disclosed) and I will publish it for the readers to vote. So, again .. a little response please. This is to mark my anniversary, make it memorable for me.

Send your entry to doi_nk@yahoo.com. Submission begins today till 21st of September 2007."

Now according to my wife, I'm not that romantic, but I think we have very different ideas about what romance actually is. For some people it might be about the sacrifice, commitment and hard-work that it takes to keep a relationship viable, whereas others may see it as the mushy stuff that can be used to hide the fact that there may be no substance in a relationship (am I letting my prejudice show???!)
I am not sure whether I will be able to come up with anything suitable, but $100 is quite an attractive, if not romantic proposition...
The Just Me blog is extremely well-written with a lot of prose and interesting stories, May Leng's style is very readable and well worth a visit.

Contest Blogger

I have been entering blog contests for a while to see if it is possible to raise some extra cash or get some cool stuff through winning prizes. To be honest, I have won nothing so far.... but it costs nothing to have a go....
My favourite source for locating cool contest has been without a doubt, Contest Blogger - This site is devoted to bringing you the best contests on the blogosphere. The author, Phil Van Treuren has come up with a phenomenal idea for a website, and has capitalised on this idea by building an excellent site to match. For visitors, there are all those contests to enter, for clients there is the opportunity to have your contest mentioned on an extremely popular site that will guarantee good exposure and traffic.
For a very reasonable charge, you can have your contest 'featured' guaranteeing even more exposure and traffic. Recently Phil ran a 'Ashwin Khanna Revenge' competition - if you don't know what all that was about, have a look at the original post here (the contest is now over - another one I didn't win!). In conclusion then, if you think you'd like to win something, and who wouldn't?? Take a trip to Contest Blogger and find yourself a competition or two...

Livewyre.NET competition $35

I'm ready to announce my first competition... Let's cut to the chase, the prize will be cash, and the rules will be easy - That should appeal to most of the bloggers that I know!
I am offering a main prize of $25 via paypal and an additional runners-up prize of $10. I have decided the criteria for awarding prizes, but to prevent counter-productive gaming of the rules, these will remain secret. I will say however that one prize will be awarded at random to anyone participating in the competition, the other will be earned more on merit.
I want to drive some traffic to my new website so this is what I am looking for:
  • A blog post of minimum 100 words creating buzz about Livewyre.NET with at least two links, one to the page you like best on my new website, and one to this competition.
  • If you use the words 'Livewyre.NET' I would prefer .NET in capitals...
  • leave a comment here (with the URL of your qualifying post) when your entry is done
  • I would be grateful if you would DIGG the page you link to on the site - if you want to link to more than one page, a third link would be acceptable.
  • There is no reason that both prizes cannot be won for the same entry since one of the prizes is entirely random.
  • Well-written imaginative posts stand a better chance of winning the merit prize (English language only please)
  • Competition closes on 30th September 2007, winners to be announced on 3rd October
Leave a comment if you have any questions
